Gegründet wurde die Band 1999 noch unter dem Namen "The Silverslut", bevor sie nach 6 EPs , sich in "The Search" umbenannten.

Mit ihrem Album "Our need for solace" tourten "The Search" 2014 dann auch in Deutschland.
Nachdem sich die Band etwas verkleinert hat, bringt sie 2016 nun ihr neues Album "Songs about Losers" heraus.
